Monbukagakusho (MEXT) Scholarship

For undergraduates majoring or minoring in Japanese or Asian Studies to further their study of language and culture. Graduate students wishing to conduct research at a Japanese university are also eligible. Interested applicants must apply through the Japanese Consulate in Atlanta.

Award Amount

117,000 Yen per month for undergraduate study abroad up to one year; graduates receive 143,000 yen (Research Student course), 144,000 yen (master's or professional degree program) or 145,000 yen (doctoral program) monthly. Also includes transportation and school fees.
